Are there any immediate deadlines that can effect my case?

In many circumstances, no.  But all cases are different and it is always best to at least consult with an attorney early on if possible.  Important evidence and witness information is always best if preserved correctly.   We do not charge any fee for performing an investigation of your case and providing you our initial evaluation.  It is always your choice whether to pursue any claim.

How do I handle all of the medical bills and dealing with insurance companies?

This is typically a very early and common hassle for injury victims and their families who already have too much to deal with.  Even if we are never hired as your attorney, we can offer help and assistance with what is usually a very frustrating part of dealing with an injury.

How do you determine what a case is "worth"?

There are many factors that go into a case evaluation.  The insurance companies who typically defend those who committed the harm have large libraries of information on past cases and for that reason (among many others) enjoy a big advantage over individual victims who are thinking about trying to figure out how to negotiate their own case.

What do we tell insurance companies or investigators if they contact us?

It is perfectly fine to tell anyone that you would first like to consult with an attorney prior to making any statements or giving specific information.  Your own insurance company is entitled to your cooperation, but there are many circumstances even in that case where it’s advisable to at least talk with an attorney first.

Insurance companies or investigators representing the people who did the harm always prefer to get statements and other information before the victims have a chance to understand their legal rights.  Give serious thought about making any statement before leveling the playing field with more information.  We’ll be happy to speak with you even over the phone to answer your initial questions.

How much does it cost to hire an attorney?

There is no charge to you during our pursuit of your case.  Our firm exclusively represents the victims of harm or injury, and these cases are pursued under a "contingency fee" arrangement.  That is, we receive a minority percentage of your settlement or verdict at the end of the case.  We will be happy to discuss and explain in detail how this works.
